GIS for ManagersDescription of CourseThis four-hour course provides coastal resource managers with an opportunity to understand the basics of geographic information systems (GIS) through hands-on computer training. By the end of the course, managers should be able to
This training will focus on specific coastal-related problems and how a GIS might be used to solve them. With this approach, managers are exposed to familiar scenarios and common data sets, which vividly illustrate the potential of GIS to assist in the workplace. PrerequisitesClasses are limited to current Center partners from the non-profit, local, state, and federal government sectors.
