Metadata Workshop Materials

Although this curriculum has not been updated in a number of years, the information, slides, activities, and general materials can be used or updated to fit a number of metadata training needs.

Downloading and Compiling Workshop Materials

The workshop is divided into ten modules. Each module can be downloaded and printed separately, or the entire workbook can be downloaded as a ZIP archive file (9.5MB). The bulk of these documents are Adobe PDF files, which require the use of PDF viewing software. If you do not have Adobe® Reader® or a similar application, you can download it free.

Whether you choose to download the ZIP file, or print from the individual links, be sure to read the printing directions for the unzipped PDF and PowerPoint files to assist you in printing the materials properly. It is important to note that some documents are best printed in color. For example, in topic 5, participants are given a sample metadata record with each of the main elements distinguished by a separate color. Also, if you choose to print the PowerPoint presentation as overhead transparencies, color is the way to go.
